Participate in the Stewardship Annual Campaign!

The 2022-23 First Church Stewardship Annual Campaign is reaching out to members and friends to Reconnect & Recommit To Our Path Forward. The past two years have not been easy for anyone. We need each other now more than ever. In the words of Mark Morrison-Reed, “The central task of the religious community is to unveil the bonds that bind each to all. There is a connectedness, a relationship discovered amid the particulars of our own lives and the lives of others.” During this time we hope you will contemplate what your pledge will mean to the First Church community and the wider community we serve.

Last year First Church strengthened our hybrid operations. Our Lifespan Faith Development team presented Tad Talks of all kinds, sharing the rich knowledge and experience of our community.  The audio visual team moved forward with improvements to enhance our virtual capabilities, which will continue to reach those who can't return to the sanctuary. Our partnerships stayed strong with Tutoring at Avondale and staffing the Shiloh Food Pantry.  Reverend Connie achieved full fellowship, a landmark for her and our congregation.  We continue to stay flexible, and evolve with this ever changing new normal. In 2022-23 we hope to hire both a new Director of Operations and an Office Administrator.

Through our Stewardship Campaign we gather the resources to support the mission and operation of First Church. Your participation matters because it allows us to carry on the critical work of the Church. Your participation with an annual pledge, at any amount, will reflect your commitment to the future of First Unitarian Church of Cincinnati.

When does this year’s campaign take place?

The 2022 campaign will kick off in the pulpit on March 6th
Canvassers will start reaching out no later than March 13
The campaign will end April 3rd
The sooner you can pledge, the better, so that the Finance Committee and Board can assemble the church budget. Thank you!

Giving Guide

Our church is sustained by our generosity. To help us plan the 2022-2023 budget, we ask you to make a PLEDGE now to tell us how much you plan to give between July 1, 2022 and June 30, 2023.

Not sure how much to pledge? Commit to a total that is MEANINGFUL for you and for the church’s needs. It is helpful to know the church spends about $1900 per person on its ministry and programs. For many in our congregation, this figure is not realistic for their present financial situation. We appreciate your donations of your time and talents. EVERYONE’s contribution, whether financial or otherwise, is needed and valued. Those who can give more, please do so, perhaps at the Visionary Level or Tithe Level shown below.

Keep in mind that operating costs such as insurance and utilities rise annually, and pledges at last year’s level translate into budget cuts for the next year. STEPPING UP your pledge is important to assuring those cuts do not occur and that First Church has the funds to carry out our shared mission of justice, love and hope.
