Shakila Ahmad, president of the board of the Islamic Center of Greater Cincinnati (ICGC) shares her thoughts about Islam and living as a Muslim in the United States. Ahmad is a well known community leader and advocate for peace and justice which is how she and Rev. Dittmar met. She serves on the board of directors for the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, the Ohio Humanities Council and Cincinnati YWCA. Born in Pakistan, Ahmad came to Cincinnati at the age of nine. In addition to her extensive work as Board President, Ahmad is a wife and mother, and manages a medical practice. After the service everyone is invited to remain in the sanctuary until 11:30 a.m. for a conversation on how First Church can support our friends at ICGC and discuss opportunities for us to partner together.
