DROP INN CENTER FAMILY LUNCH SERVICE

Purpose

To engage our members, including families with children, to engage in meaningful service in the hope that they will learn more about the complex issues surrounding homelessness.

Background

In the 1980's and 1990's with the leadership of Ben Graziani many First Church families had the opportunity to serve meals at the Drop Inn Center monthly. This gave us, especially our children, an opportunity to be givers in a tangible way. It brought the reality of homelessness close enough to see and feel.

Current Activity

In 2007 with the leadership of Beth Baumgartner this project has begun again. Families or individuals are encouraged to sign up and the sign-up sheet is on the entry bulletin board.
